Project Orient Expresto is a combination of ethno and classical
music. Pianist and composer Matej Meštrović will perform three
songs together with a skillful pianist Kristina Bjelopavlović and
percussionists Borna Šercar. Orient Expresto was created a year ago
and so far all the performances of the musical trio ended with
ovations.
Ever since in 1988. when he performed the background music for
the cycle of silent movies with Buster Keaton, pianist Matej
Meštrović based his composing on visual interpretation. Thus, in
2004. he recorded a CD titled "Sounds of Velebit" that the magazine
"National Geographic" distributed to a circulation of 45,000
copies. The photographs by Ivo Pervan woven into photo-monograph
"Herzegovina - the land of light 'were the inspiration for the
eponymous song.
